Easter Weekend - Annapolis, MD
After a long winter hiatus that I spent in complete hibernation, I am back in action and ready for spring! The Long Island and NYC area experienced one of the worst winters in history this year, and temperatures have finally risen to normal spring standards. And just when things are warming up, it's finally time for my spring break! Hofstra plans for the Easter holiday to start off the week-long break, so I was lucky to spend the holiday with my family at home in Virginia.
We had an amazing Easter brunch at Clyde's Willow Creek Farm! We were actually seated in an old barn that has been added onto the restaurant.
We feasted on mimosas, bloody mary's, coffee cake, eggs benedict, and pancakes!
The grounds were festively decorated.
And there was even a PETTING ZOO set up for the kids and families!
This lamb was much more interested in his straw breakfast than our love.
My new friend and I bonded over feeding carrots to this fluffy guy!
Thanks for having us Clyde's! It was fantastic as always!
We quickly packed our bags for a quick trip to Annapolis for some sunshine and exploring.
We had lunch at the famous "Chick & Ruth's Delly", and then walked down along the waterfront.
Annapolis is home to the United States Naval Academy, and luckily the pretty campus is open for walking.
This building on the right is Bancroft Hall. It is actually the largest college dormitory in the world, housing all 4,500 midshipmen!
These are the beautiful homes of the Academy's Officers.
We hopped on the Annapolis Trolley Tour to see more of the historical city on our second day.
Historical homes dated back to the 17th century line most of the streets and are carefully preserved.
Here is a view of the Naval Academy from the Annapolis WWII memorial.
Only an hour away from Northern Virginia, Annapolis treated us to perfect weather, a little shopping, and historical sights. Hello spring! We're so happy to finally have you!
